Podcast Digest November 10 - November 16
Chris Grant and team does something they should do more often, have a guest, and it is former 1up.com editor of something John Davison. He likes Mirror's Edge and explains that the designers were able to convey a sense of self by placing the camera in the character's eyes and giving brief glimpses of Faith's limbs. Furthermore, that little blue dot that is in the middle of the screen was added to keep us from vomiting because it replicates a trick that ballerina's use to maintain their equilibrium - focusing at a single spot.

Gamers With Jobs Conference Call
Even more brilliant than bringing John Davison on, Shawn Elliott appears on with the regular team. Luckily the GWJ team does what everyone should do when he is on, quiet down and just let him talk. Shawn's greatest strength is his ability to see through a game to its basic mechanics which he does for Gears of War and Left for Dead. Shawn likens the foes in both games to flowers that evolved to hold the nectar just out of reach of humming birds that evolve different beak lengths to extract it. Essentially, each enemy attacks at a different distance and we use different weapons to kill each one.
The conversation then moves to bashing dialog trees. Actually, I agree with them mainly because I hate all story in games so I guess I would dislike any means of delivery.
