Myst
The full, free walkthrough for the game that ended one era and started another
When Myst arrived on store shelves in 1993 it was a revolution. By being the first game to require a CD-ROM, it ushered in the early 90’s multimedia bonanza. By featuring full-motion-video of real-life actors speaking with their actual voices, it set the bar for all other games’ presentation. And, by presenting a streamlined interface with one-button
interaction and an AWOL inventory, it hammered the final nails into the adventure enre’s coffin. But now, ironically, Myst’s appearance on the DS has the potential to be the title that leads the way for past adventure games to arise from the ashes and re-appear on Nintendo’s handheld. Consider it Myst’s way of repaying its karmic debt.
