No One Told Me About This

All I was trying to do was catch up on the games that got away. On deck this time, Bionic Commando. Its great, great grandson will be appearing on XBLA in a few weeks and I know that it will be the toast of the blog-land and I wanted to be sure I knew what they were all talking about. I had always heard the basics of the game: grapple hook, wink-wink they are Nazis, and a climactive fight against Hitler. What I didn't realize, though, is that that this is the first side-scroller with an overworld map.

Juno  

Between session of Halflife 2, Episode 2, I went to go see Juno (the start is weak but ends much better) and was glad to see that the main love song is The Moldy Peaches' Anyone Else but You.

The song is significant because it nonchalantly shows that the songwriters are gamers. From the second verse: 

 Up up down down left right left right B A start /
Just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart /
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else /
But you /

And then from the next one:

I will find my nitch in your car /
With my mp3 DVD rumple-pack guitar /
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else /

Unfortunatly, those two verses were cropped out of the movie. Ah well, the song is good.

Happy Hanukkahmas

Hanukkahmas according to the Okami Game Guide:

To tell you the truth, I don't know when we are supposed to celebrate Hanukkahmas. I was thinking that because it is the combination of two celebrations it should go right between each of them which would make it next Wednesday. But, since Hanukkahmas started yesterday I worried that I might miss it by starting so late. So, here it is early. Happy Hanukkahmas!
